Viet Nam Business Relationship Stronger Than Ever
Viet Nam has one of the fastest growing economies in the South East Asia Region and the business relationship between Viet Nam and Australia is stronger than ever.
AVBC 25th Anniversary Celebrations
Australian and Vietnamese businesses, government representatives, sponsors, other business networks and agencies, as well as cultural community organisations, who attended the Australia Vietnam Business Council’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations, held at the Sydney Boulevard Hotel on Wednesday, 28 April 2021, is a testament to the strong business relationship, potential bilateral trade development and investment opportunities between Australia and Viet Nam.
AVBC Business Relationship Management
Since early in 2021, Australia Vietnam Business Council had received various enquires from Australian businesses about importing products from Vietnam, as well as the potential to set up their businesses to be based in Viet Nam.
AVBC Business Relationship Management (BRM) was created by the organisation in February, 2021 to handle the increase of supply chain enquires, relocation of business manufacturing interest, as well as sourcing business contacts in Viet Nam to meet demands of various products to export to Australia.
AVBC Business Relationship Management is also developing the Digitalisation of the organisation’s infrastructure with Digital Innovative Systems and Emerging Technologies.

AVBC Planning 2021-2022
The organisation’s dynamic planning workshop held on the 21 January 2021, elevated the Australia Vietnam Business Council’s corporate 2021-2022 strategic direction, by tackling the Covid-19 business restrictions head-on with effective on-line business communication, waiving membership fees on application until 30 June 2022, develop proposals to attract potential sponsors, as well as applying for government grants.
AVBC Event Initiatives
Some of the Australia Vietnam Business Council‘s event initiatives this year have included being a successful applicant of the NSW Government – Kickstart Event Grant to hold the inaugural AVBC Conference 2022, to be held in Sydney on the Wednesday 16 – 17 March 2022.
The organisation with support from Australian and Vietnamese potential corporate sponsors, anticipate conducting the AVBC Renewable Energy Conference to be held in October 2022 at Bankstown, NSW.

AVBC National Framework Development
AVBC with its 25 year history held a meeting in July 2021 with members, to discuss a suitable framework to develop a national AVBC organisation outside the jurisdiction of NSW that would include other states and territories.
After researching and developing a suitable national framework, AVBC engaged an independent consultancy firm to register the national organisation with a Board of Directors.
Since inception of AVBC Ltd in October 2021, the national organisation created an AVBC Advisory Board that includes representatives from each state and territory. The national organisation invited representatives of AVBC (based in NSW), SAVBC (South Australia) and WAVBC (Western Australia) who acknowledged their organisation’s participation on the AVBC Advisory Board.
An invite was also extended to AVBC (Queensland) who are yet to respond to their invitation to participate on the AVBC Advisory Board.

Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy
The Australia Vietnam Business Council was invited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2020, to provide a submission as part of the consultation processes in the development of the Enhanced, Economic, Engagement Strategy between Australia and Viet Nam.
After much collaboration between the Australian and Vietnamese Governments, the Enhanced, Economic, Engagement Strategy was published in December 2021. The Strategy’s Implementation Plan sets out a vision to strengthen two-way trade and investment.
The Strategy includes 8 important sectors to implement with Action Plans & Key Initiatives to boost bilateral trade and investment between Australia and Viet Nam. This information was obtained from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at: www.australia-vietnam-eees.gov.au
